Terms of Service

1. Scope and Applicability

These Terms of Service govern the use of the Renuir platform, including the website, mobile applications, and API services, operated by Renuir UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin, Germany. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms.

2. Service Description

Renuir provides a digital platform for reporting, matching, and recovering lost items. The service connects individuals who have lost items with venues and organizations that have found them. Renuir facilitates the matching process through AI-powered technology, provides secure communication channels, and supports verified item returns.

3. User Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate and current information. Renuir reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Obligations

When using Renuir, you agree to:

• Provide truthful information when reporting lost or found items
• Not submit fraudulent claims or impersonate others
• Respect the privacy of other users and venue staff
• Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose

5. Ownership Verification

Renuir uses a multi-step verification process to confirm item ownership before facilitating returns. This may include description matching, photo comparison, and knowledge-based verification questions. While we strive for accuracy, Renuir does not guarantee the identity of claimants and venues should apply their own judgment.

6. Payments

Optional Quick Boost and Priority Boost features are one-time consumable digital purchases processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store displays the final price, currency, and applicable taxes before purchase. A validated Boost is applied to the eligible item for the duration shown in the app, but it does not guarantee views, matches, or recovery. Store billing and refund rules, applicable law, and mandatory consumer rights apply. If a completed purchase is not applied, contact info@renuir.com. Business subscriptions and eligible delivery charges may be processed by Stripe or another provider disclosed at checkout. Renuir does not store full payment-card details.

7. Intellectual Property

The Renuir platform, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is the intellectual property of Renuir UG. Users retain ownership of content they upload (photos, descriptions) but grant Renuir a non-exclusive license to use this content for the purpose of providing the service, including AI matching.

8. Liability

Renuir acts as a facilitator and does not guarantee the return of any lost item, a particular match, or the success of a Boost. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, guarantees, product liability, or other liability that cannot legally be limited. For slight negligence, Renuir is liable only for breach of essential contractual duties and only for foreseeable, typical damage. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Renuir may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these terms, with reasonable notice where possible. Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The exclusive jurisdiction for disputes is Berlin, Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms with reasonable notice. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
